We had a great meeting on January 29th! Checks from the Trenton Times/Kiwanis Camp Fund were distributed to three more organizations: The Girls Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey ( http://gscng.org/ ) , Homefront ( http://homefrontnj.org/ ), and RISE ( http://www.rise-community-services.org/ ). Our guest speaker was Dennis Micai, Executive Director of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen ( http://www.trentonsoupkitchen.org/ ). Dennis gave us some background on the work of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and proposed ways that Kiwanians can participate more fully in their efforts to combat hunger, provide education and improve the quality of their patrons lives. We’re very proud of these organizations and honored to support their efforts in Trenton and the surrounding areas.
